Organizations Involved

Oncode Institute is a Dutch organization focused on advancing cancer research and accelerating the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical applications. Their website plays a key role in communicating with multiple audiences, including researchers, partners, and the broader public.

Integral Vision partnered with Oncode to redesign and rebuild their website. While the initial request was a visual refresh, the project evolved into a full rebuild to address structural limitations, improve usability, and create a scalable digital platform.

The new website was delivered using Modulo, a preconfigured Drupal CMS, enabling faster development and a flexible, future-proof solution

About the project

Goals and requirements

The project aimed to:

  • Improve the look and feel of the website
  • Enhance usability and navigation
  • Create a more flexible content management system

A key requirement was to deliver these improvements within limited time and budget.

Approach and implementation

Instead of only updating the design, the project included a rebuild of the website.

The team:

  • Improved the content structure
  • Updated navigation (including megamenu and on-page navigation)
  • Introduced reusable components
  • Implemented listing, filtering, and sorting features

Modulo was used to accelerate the process and provide a solid foundation.

Outcome and results

The new website:

  • Provides a more professional appearance
  • Improves usability and navigation
  • Makes content management more comfortable and flexible
  • Supports future updates without major redevelopment

Why Drupal was chosen

The initial plan focused on a design update, but it became clear that the existing platform had limitations in terms of structure and flexibility.

Drupal was chosen because it supports:

  • Flexible content structuring
  • Scalable architecture
  • Reusable components for content management

Using Modulo helped speed up development by providing a preconfigured Drupal setup.
