Client Overview -
NSE Clearing Limited (NSCCL)is a subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the largest stock exchange in India, and the world's largest derivatives exchange by the number of traded contracts. NSE Clearing is responsible for clearing and settling all trades executed on NSE, deposit, collateral management, and risk management functions.
Back to topProject Overview -
The NSE Clearing website, built in static HTML, was outdated, unresponsive, and not mobile-friendly. The design was not consistent with the parent NSE website. Content management was tedious, and NSE Clearing teams found it difficult to update the settlement statistics and circulars on time.
They required a consistent and accessible design to harmonize with the NSE main website and a modern CMS for a responsive website and effortless content management. NSE Clearing partnered with QED42 for a complete overhaul of their website.
- 100% WCAG 2.0 compliant website
- 100% independence for content management
About the project
Client Requirement -
NSE Clearing wanted to deliver an enhanced and user-friendly experience to improve customer engagement and the user experience.
Back to topThe Solution -
- We redesigned the NSE Clearing website with a simple and intuitive interface that is consistent with the parent website - https://www.nseindia.com.
- Our standardized and reusable components ensure brand consistency across all web pages.
- We implemented a powerful and visible search functionality enabling users to access relevant information quickly.
We migrated the NSE Clearing website to Drupal 9 to drive consistency, security, and scalability. Drupal 9 empowered NSE Clearing content teams to create & publish pages and content without depending entirely on the development team. We enabled the client to easily regulate which teams can use specific components, giving them complete control to deliver excellent web experiences while fostering collaboration among all teams.
The Drupal 9 component-driven architecture backed with a design system enhanced the website’s content architecture & design by streamlining its content governance processes and offering an intuitive UI to its users.

Key implementations -
Organized and guided information architecture:
We enhanced the NSE Clearing website’s content architecture to enhance usability, findability, and discoverability of relevant information with a UX-design-led IA. We planned the navigation system to make it easy for people to find and use what they are looking for, facilitating a user-centered design.

Effortless content management:
Drupal 9’s DIY page builder empowered content editors to create, manage, and launch pages with a simple drag-and-drop interface eliminating the dependency on the development team. The component-based design also ensures brand consistency across the website.

Standardized and reusable components:
We custom-built the design system with standardized and reusable components to scale digital products and ensure consistent branding across all web pages and digital assets. Our efficient and intuitive UI/UX strategy enables high performance of the website to enhance consistent user experiences.

Enhanced content governance:
We created a custom framework to structure content and identify content standards driving efficiency across the whole content production cycle. We detailed personalized workflows for each user in the content team for an effective and productive process with 100% control over content creation and management.

Business Benefits -
- Empowered different stakeholders at NSE Clearing to independently manage & the content for their departments.
- Offered a library of pre-built, standardized, and reusable components to build new pages with a simple drag-and-drop interface while maintaining brand & visual consistency.
- A simple yet efficient workflow for content management and approval streamlined their content governance process.

Why Drupal was chosen
We chose Drupal 9 for the client’s website as the previous website did not have a CMS and was facing a major challenge in updating content. Drupal’s content authoring capability empowers the NSCCL’s content team to add and update content on time with less dependency on the development team. Drupal’s multilingual support also enables the NSCCL website to add additional languages keeping in pace with the parent website’s plan to deliver content in multiple Indian languages. Drupal’s powerful integration capabilities allow NSCCL to seamlessly tap into the business data from the parent website, while the component-based approach ensures the NSCCL website’s look and experience matches the NSE website.
