Solution Biosys needed a digital platform to support the launch of its innovative bio-based construction solutions and address the information needs of different audiences, from construction professionals to individuals planning their own projects.
About the project
Goals
- Promote the Biosys range of bio-based building solutions (hemp, flax and wood concrete blocks, screeds) to masons, architects, prescribers and self-builders
- Educate the market on bio-based construction and its regulatory context (RE2020, environmental labels)
- Generate and qualify commercial, documentation and training leads
- Build trust through field references and testimonials from craftsmen and homeowners
Requirements
- A structured catalogue of solutions, with associated technical content and downloadable documentation
- A knowledge base: editorial articles, a 20-question FAQ, testimonials and site references
- A documentation library with filters, so visitors can find the right technical sheet quickly
- Several distinct contact paths, each routed to the right internal team
- Aggregation of the brand's social activity on the site
- GDPR-compliant consent and data-collection mechanisms
- A bilingual French/English structure ready for export markets
Outcome
- A Drupal 11 platform built around a solution / editorial / testimonial / FAQ / documentation content model, assembled with about thirty Paragraph components
- Eight dedicated forms covering professional and individual enquiries, commercial offers, training requests and newsletter subscription, each with its own notification and confirmation workflow
- Filterable documentation and FAQ listings powered by Better Exposed Filters, giving immediate access to technical information
- A social wall block aggregating the brand's social feeds through a custom service
- Global site settings, social links and brand parameters managed as configuration pages, without developer intervention
- Elasticsearch-based site search and Redis caching, deployed on Kubernetes through GitLab CI
- A site that the marketing team runs in full autonomy, with SSO-protected administration
Why Drupal was chosen
Drupal was chosen to support the digital launch and growth of a bio-based construction range aimed at both building professionals and self-builders:
- Flexible content modelling able to hold a product range, a technical knowledge base and a large editorial corpus in a single model
- A powerful form engine to capture and qualify leads (professionals, individuals, commercial offers, training requests, newsletter)
- Native multilingual support to open the range to export markets
- Fine-grained editorial roles so that a small marketing team can run the site autonomously
- A high level of security and a predictable maintenance cycle
- Consistency with the other Drupal platforms of the group, allowing skills, components and hosting to be shared
Drupal provides a marketing platform that is both editorially rich and technically sustainable, without the cost of a bespoke CMS.

Key modules/theme/distribution used:
Paragraphs, Block Content Template and Config Pages make the site fully editable by the marketing team. Paragraphs provides the thirty or so components used to build solution pages, editorial articles and landing pages; Block Content Template makes reusable blocks render consistently wherever they are placed; and Config Pages moves the global parameters - brand settings, social links, generic call-to-actions - out of code and into a dedicated administration screen.
Lead generation and content discovery rely on Webform, Themable Forms, Better Exposed Filters and Geolocation. Webform carries the eight acquisition forms of the site - professional and individual enquiries, commercial offers, training requests, newsletter - each with its own routing and confirmation logic, while Themable Forms keeps them aligned with the brand design instead of the default Drupal rendering. Better Exposed Filters turns the documentation library and the twenty-question FAQ into fast self-service finders, and Geolocation positions the network of partners and site references on a map.
Role Delegation, Menu Admin per Menu and Minify HTML answer the governance and performance requirements. Role Delegation lets the client administer its own editors without granting full user administration, and Menu Admin per Menu restricts each contributor to the menus that concern them - both decisive for a platform run day to day by a small marketing team. Minify HTML reduces the payload of a very component-rich front end, on a site whose audience largely arrives from organic search and mobile devices.
