Third & Grove Helps Put Lobbying within Everyone’s Reach

When a former eBay executive created the startup iLobby to radically change the face of lobbying, he called Third & Grove to help innovate. iLobby was conceived as a groundbreaking platform for ordinary citizens to gather support and funding around political issues. It allows users all over the U.S. to create grassroots online coalitions that have real buying power in Washington, D.C. It’s the easiest and most effective way to be heard and change a law.

Third & Grove was charged with creating a minimum viable product (MVP) for a new type of crowdsourcing platform, one that could engage its users on important political issues and spark debate. With a minimal budget and a short turnaround time, TAG designed and developed a unique interactive site.

Third & Grove built iLobby from the ground up, offering dynamic features and great UX on a Drupal 7 platform. Users can get info about their local reps and the Congressional Committee members involved in issues that interest them, as well as filter to locate the debates that matter.

The Killer Feature – Crowdfunding lobbyists
iLobby offers an intuitive interface through which users can start a debate on any issue. They enter their argument for or against, and then other users are free to debate the issue and vote and pledge funds online to show their support. Once the required level of support has been achieved, a professional lobbyist can be hired with the funds raised. Users are able to leverage their contacts and community ties, sharing the debate with others and sending messages to other stakeholders. All in all, a potentially power-shifting way to approach politics as usual.

Why Drupal was chosen

The iLobby team needed to build a community-driven platform for engaging political activism in it's user base. With it's extensive free module ecosystem Drupal has strong support for logged-in user experiences.
