Organizations Involved

MBFO (Miejskie Biuro Finansów Oświaty) delivers financial accounting and administrative services for educational institutions in Poland. We were responsible for creating a unified platform to manage over 60 client websites while preserving their identities.

About the project

I am pleased to recommend Smartbees as an extremely competent and professional partner in the design and implementation of CMS platforms. The team demonstrated the highest level of professionalism at every stage of the project.

Ewelina Rudzka, MBFO Director

The Goal

The client managed over 60 websites that lacked technological consistency. Development costs were high, making any feature deployment difficult and inefficient.

Our main objective was to build a centralized platform that would allow the client to manage all websites from a single location. We had to provide each institution with the ability to manage its own content independently. This approach helped us optimize costs and streamline MBFO’s services.

MBFO - the project's goal

The Solution

We created the platform using Drupal 11 with the Domain Access module. We put emphasis on:

  • Ensuring visual and structural unity across all websites
  • Meeting accessibility standards
  • Streamlining the process of adding new pages
  • Simplifying platform updates

The Effect

We built a scalable platform that enabled the management of all client websites from a single place and standardized their structure. What else have we achieved?

  • A central administration panel that streamlines the workflow
  • Reduced maintenance and update costs
  • Migration of over 60 websites onto a single platform and hosting
  • Simplified future development

Why Drupal was chosen

  • Easy brand and structure management – Drupal’s extensive theming options enabled us to give each website the ability to customize its color palette and layout while maintaining its unique identity.
  • Implementing accessibility standards – the CMS’s strong focus on WCAG compliance helped us meet the strict legal accessibility requirements.
  • Simple updates – shared codebase allows for applying security patches, new features, and core updates quickly and easily. This significantly reduces maintenance time across all websites.
  • Centralized management – thanks to the Domain Access module, we were able to run multiple websites from a single installation. Administrators can oversee the entire platform and streamline workflows from one unified backend.
