Meet bluedrop.fr

French Drupal agency for complex, long-term digital platforms and website factories

bluedrop.fr is an independent French web agency specialized in Drupal and open-source technologies.

For more than 26 years, we have been designing, building, maintaining and evolving complex digital platforms for organizations with ambitious web projects.

Based in Marseille, France, with an operational presence in Paris and teams across France and Lebanon, we work with private companies, public organizations and non-profits on projects ranging from corporate websites to multisite platforms, website factories, intranets, business applications and content platforms.

Our Drupal expertise covers the full lifecycle of a project: digital consulting, UX and UI design, Drupal development, migration and upgrades, multisite architecture, accessibility, performance, hosting, security and long-term maintenance.

We are particularly experienced in:

  • Drupal multisite and website factory projects
  • Drupal migrations, upgrades and modernization
  • Maintenance, support and takeover of existing Drupal projects
  • Complex web platforms and business applications
  • Design systems and component-based Drupal websites
  • Accessibility and eco-designed digital services
  • Performance, security and long-term technical support

We build Drupal platforms designed to last: scalable, maintainable and adapted to the needs of both technical teams and content editors.

Drupal Certified Partner

bluedrop is proud to be a Drupal Certified Partner. The Drupal Certified Partner program recognizes organizations that demonstrate significant expertise, innovation, and contribution to the Drupal project and community. Certified Partners represent the top 5% of Drupal contributors and are the experts who contribute the most to Drupal itself.

This recognition reflects our long-standing commitment to Drupal, open source, and to actively contributing to the future of the platform.

Drupal expertise built around long-term projects

We believe that Drupal is particularly powerful when it is used as a long-term foundation for digital services.

Our approach combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of the operational challenges behind large and evolving websites: managing multiple sites and brands, maintaining consistency across digital ecosystems, improving editorial autonomy, securing existing platforms and keeping Drupal projects maintainable over time.

Open source is central to the way we work. We value transparency, interoperability, sustainability and the ability for organizations to retain control over their digital platforms.

Accessibility, eco-design and data protection are also integrated into our project approach from the earliest stages of design and development.

Contributing to the Drupal ecosystem

As an active contributor to the Drupal ecosystem, bluedrop.fr develops and supports open-source projects that help improve the security, performance and quality of Drupal websites.

Our contributions include modules such as Deindex Unpublished Files, used by more than 50 reported Drupal sites, which helps prevent files associated with unpublished content from being publicly accessible or indexed by search engines.

We also support Page Cache Exclusion, used by more than 500 reported Drupal sites, which gives site administrators greater control over Drupal’s page cache and helps prevent unnecessary cache entries from affecting database performance.

We contribute back to Drupal by supporting and maintaining open-source projects, contributing code and sponsoring community initiatives. Sharing reusable solutions and strengthening the Drupal ecosystem is part of the way we work.

Our experience spans Drupal website factories for international groups, public digital services, complex platforms and long-term maintenance of large Drupal ecosystems.

STEF: Global Drupal multisite and website factory
STEF is an international specialist in temperature-controlled transport and logistics. We built a shared Drupal platform bringing together one corporate website and eight country websites. A common design system and reusable site models help maintain a consistent brand experience, while customized editorial tools give local teams greater autonomy in managing their content.

Elior Group: International Drupal website factory
bluedrop.fr took over and continues to maintain and evolve Elior Group’s international Drupal website factory, bringing together corporate websites, brands, country sites and business entities. The platform is based on shared Drupal foundations and customized installation profiles, allowing several dozen websites to be deployed or migrated while centralizing maintenance and reducing technical debt.

Toulon Provence Méditerranée: Accessible public digital services
We redesigned the websites of the City of Toulon and Toulon Provence Méditerranée on a shared Drupal platform combining reusable components, shared content and connected public services. Accessibility was built into the project from the start, with the Métropole website achieving 95.9% RGAA compliance and a 99.6% average compliance rate.

Babilou Family US: Scalable Drupal multisite platform
We replaced several aging WordPress websites with a shared Drupal 10 platform for three childcare and education brands in the United States. The common technical foundation allows each brand to retain its own identity while reusing components, integrations and functionality and making it easier to add new brands over time.

The Bordeaux Opera House: Drupal website redesign and digital experience
We redesigned the Drupal website of the Opéra National de Bordeaux to improve the presentation of its cultural programme and make it easier for visitors to discover performances, venues and ticketing information. Our work covered UX and UI design, Drupal development, content migration, maintenance and hosting.

Metropolis of Nice: redesign of the public transports website
The metropolis of Nice entrusted us with the redesign of its public transports website in partnership with Cityway. We handled the UX and UI redesign, as well as the Drupal / Angular development, while Cityway took care of the business tools.

CGT: a website factory for the local unions
The General Confederation of Labor, or CGT, is one of the main French unions. We carried out the redesign of their website in 2022, and developed a website factory for the local unions and the union's services. We also handle the hosting and do the maintenance.

JobToMove for ANFA: a Drupal 11 job site platform
The ANFA (National Automotive Vocational Training Association) is dedicated to promoting employment within the automotive sector. We redesigned ANFA's job board platform to facilitate the connection between candidates and recruiters. The project address the professional mobility needs within the sector.

University of Rennes: Drupal redesign of the training directory
The University of Rennes commissioned us to redesign its training directory, a crucial tool for high school students, university applicants, and professionals in career transitions. The goal was to clarify and streamline the user experience by reorganizing the information hierarchy and optimizing the navigation flow.

We are currently working on large-scale Drupal projects, notably for the French Office for Biodiversity, Sorbonne Nouvelle University, Claude Bernard University Lyon 1, the publishing house L'école des loisirs, and the home services group O2.
