Why Drupal was chosen

Because Drupal is masterpiece ,, Drupal core is the main solution but when developing with Drupal you often need solutions in your business which this great community provide!

On the other hand as this project has heavily requirements ,, coding with Drupal API was the key .. it eases way missions, goals and everything thing else came around with developing this project .. this is why we chosen Drupal!

Why these modules/theme/distribution were chosen

The main requirement of this project was having a workflow engine with heavy customization so we chosed to go with Workflow ,, and the registration in the system was divided between Companies and individuals so Profile2 was the answer and Saudi Identity Field was helpful along with Hijri so validate things there and other places in the system!

Rules was used in between actions in the workflow .. it saves a lot of time instead of hardcore alteration :)

Everything I mean everything goes through Event Log even what got deleted so nothing is really missing :)

What is worth mentioning is that we have built 3 custom modules which were responsible for (Registration, Billing, Customization)!

integration modules:

  • Registration: Our business requirement was very extended with other Saudi ministries and other government parties ,, we designed a this module to handle the 2 profiles as individuals and companies which requires us to integrate,automate and validate information with 3 ministries and 2 other government services.
  • Billing: We have built a module for generate a bill for our business request and it connects with SADAD so the client can pay!
  • Customization: This heavy module is there for any customization we need and other alteration and hooks for such a big project which was/is a lot :)
