Why Drupal was chosen

Drupal was selected for its ability to support large-scale, content-rich websites in regulated environments such as the insurance sector:

- Flexible and robust content modeling
- Advanced editorial workflows and permissions
- High standards for security, performance, and accessibility
- Scalability to support evolving business and customer needs
- Long-term sustainability within an open-source ecosystem

Drupal provides a solid technical foundation capable of supporting both immediate redesign objectives and future digital evolution.

Why these modules/theme/distribution were chosen

JSON:API and Next.js were selected to enable a decoupled architecture that delivers fast, flexible, and modern user experiences. JSON:API provides a standardized and efficient way to expose structured content, while Next.js ensures optimal performance, SEO, and front-end scalability. This combination allows content to be consumed seamlessly across environments while maintaining a clear separation between content management and presentation.

To support content portability and consistency, Entity Share and Migrate Plus were implemented to facilitate reliable content transfers between environments. Entity Share enables controlled sharing and synchronization of content, while Migrate Plus provides advanced migration workflows and flexibility. Together, they ensure smooth content lifecycle management and reduce the risk of inconsistencies during deployments or updates.

Finally, ClamAV, Consumer Image Styles, and Image Style Warmer were chosen to enhance security and media performance. ClamAV ensures uploaded files are scanned and protected against malicious content. Consumer Image Styles and Image Style Warmer optimize image delivery by generating and preloading image variations, improving load times and ensuring a consistent visual experience across all channels.
