About eNanyang

eNanyang is a dedicated news portal for the Chinese demographic, providing both news updates and Malaysian stock market insights. Initially set up on WordPress, the platform needed an upgrade due to its expanding user base.

Project Summary

eNanyang's digital platform was encountering challenges due to its rapidly growing user base, leading to limitations in user experience and overall functionality. By adopting a strategic approach, we successfully revamped and elevated eNanyang's online platform. As a result of our interventions, users now benefit from a more streamlined, efficient, and enhanced digital experience.

  • Capacity Issues: The original platform was struggling to accommodate the increasing number of users.
  • Transition to a New Platform: Migrating from WordPress to Drupal without losing essential data posed a significant challenge.

Our approach

OpenSense Labs facilitated eNanyang's transition to Drupal 9, ensuring a more responsive and efficient user experience. Furthermore, we developed a mobile application using Flutter, enhancing the user experience on mobile devices.

Outcomes Achieved

  • Smooth migration of 500,000 articles to the new platform.
  • 4% improvement in the site's retention rate, indicating increased user engagement.
  • Through optimized advertising capabilities, the platform observed a rise in revenue.
  • All articles from the previous platform were retained, ensuring continuity for returning users.
