El Nuevo Siglo is a traditional newspaper in Colombia that has a wide daily circulation. Like many media organizations that were originally print-only and have added a digital version. They knew the time was right for change their Drupal 6 platform to a new Drupal 8 platform and responsive design.
El Nuevo Siglo's site presented some challenges known by the online news world, including a large amount of content to migrate and a vast array of content types to recategorize and reorganize. We also executed a responsive retheme that offers a sleek, better able to serve the needs of the paper’s online readership.
About the project
The client had a long time problem using a Drupal 6 version on which they had had an implementation that was not helping them achieve their digital business goals and neither their monetizing expectations. We undertook the project aiming to fulfill their business rules and to help their editors to easily work for the online newspaper as they worked for the traditional one.
Why Drupal was chosen
El Nuevo Siglo already had a Drupal 6 platform, they wanted to continue using Drupal because their good experience using this platform.
