Goals: A smooth transition to Drupal 10 for enhanced CSR operation
The CSR website of our client was running on Drupal 8. However, as Drupal 8 neared its end of life, the CSR website faced performance issues and potential security vulnerabilities. They needed an upgraded website aligned with the industry standards and technologies, ensuring long-term support and scalability. To maintain support, enhance security, and leverage new features, we collaborated with our clients to migrate their websites from Drupal 8 to Drupal 10.

- Pre-upgrade assessment: Evaluated the existing Drupal 8 site, identified the required updates and challenge areas, and planned a detailed migration.
- Incremental upgrades: We applied an incremental approach to upgrade the website, starting with Drupal 8's latest version to Drupal 9 and finally to Drupal 10.
- Module compatibility: Leveraged the Upgrade status module to assess the compatibility of custom and contributed modules, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Core and module updates: Upgraded all custom and contributed modules, including Drupal core and necessary dependencies.
- Modernization of the website: we replaced the existing CKEditor with CKEditor 5, installed the Claro theme, and removed outdated modules (CKEditor, Color, RDF).
- Environment Update: we updated PHP and MySQL to the latest versions, ensuring a secure and optimized environment.
