About the project
Challenge
Towards the end of 2012, Creative Futures Cumbria decided that it was time to give their site, which Hydrant originally built in 2008, an overhaul to fit in line with a few changes of their own. The changes were designed to bring the brandwork up to date, improve the information available to site visitors, and improvements to the interactive artist directory. The original site was built in Drupal 5, and we now use version 7 as standard, so in line with some of the re-branding work, and functionality changes we also agreed to bring them up to date with Drupal 7.
Solution
We undertook a redesign of the site homepage, the artist directory, as well as introducing article images. We also upgraded the site from Drupal 5 to Drupal 7 - bringing a more flexible, and simpler administration interface.
Results
- Consistent web and artwork branding
- Improvements to the availability of news information
- More flexible searching in the artist directory
- Easier and more flexible administration
- Improved site navigation and SEO ranking
