The Averoff Museum of Μοdern Greek Art is operating in Metsovo - Ioannina, Greece, since August 1988. Its permanent exhibition comprises representative works by the major Greek painters, printmakers and sculptors of the 19th and 20th century. The museum’s Collection is regarded as one of the most complete and important of this period.
The redesigned website of the Averoff Gallery was developed in Drupal 9, using a custom theme and displays the gallery's broad collection of works of art.
The website is equipped with a Virtual Tour button that provides the visitor with the opportunity to wander through the exhibits and an online store where one can purchase the items that are available in the Museum's physical shop.
The specific project aimed in:
- Increasing the museum's online visibility and consequently its traffic and revenue
- Digitally transforming it to a contemporary foundation that, among other possibilities, offers its visitors a user friendly and realistic virtual tour to the museum's exhibits
- Earning the Averoff Gallery a place among the renowned museums of Greece
