Unifying a Region with Drupal: The Greater St. Louis, Inc. Case Study

Spry Digital's work with Greater St. Louis serves as a compelling Drupal case study in creating a unified and impactful digital presence. The core challenge was to merge multiple legacy brands into a single, cohesive global identity while addressing the previous site's user experience and operational deficiencies. Through a collaborative approach involving stakeholder workshops and strategic planning, Spry Digital developed a new Information Architecture and built a modern, user-friendly website on the flexible Drupal platform. The result is a powerful online tool that effectively communicates the organization's strategic initiatives, provides a platform for engaging content, and supports its mission to promote economic growth, innovation, and equity in the St. Louis region.

Describe the project (goals, requirements and outcome)

The primary goal of the Greater St. Louis, Inc. website project was to create a modern and user-friendly website. This new site needed to clearly communicate the organization's strategic initiatives and highlight the advantages of living and working in the St. Louis area. The website is a critical component of their mission-driven work, which includes supporting job creation, minority-owned businesses, infrastructure development, and workforce growth.

To ensure the new website would meet the diverse needs of its various stakeholders, the project began with a series of interviews and workshops. This collaborative approach was crucial in understanding the challenges, goals, and overall vision for the new web experience. The insights gained from these sessions led to a completely reimagined user experience. This new design was intentionally crafted to provide value to a diverse and broad audience, ranging from community members to potential investors.

The final result of this project is a powerful and modern website built on the Drupal platform. This new site now serves as the organization's central hub for providing valuable resources and updates on regional growth initiatives. It empowers Greater St. Louis, Inc. to consistently publish engaging content, share compelling stories, and promote events. Ultimately, the website has become a key platform for engaging with a region that is ready for positive change and economic development.

Why Drupal was chosen

The website was built on Drupal because it provided a powerful and flexible content management system. This choice directly supported the project's complex needs, including catering to a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders. A flexible platform like Drupal was essential for creating a cohesive user experience that could integrate multiple legacy brands into a single global brand for the region, while also providing the Greater St. Louis team with a robust tool, easy for publishing compelling content, stories, and event information.
