Client Overview

Aqaba Digital Hub (ADH) is a national strategic initiative delivering cutting-edge digital infrastructure at the intersection of three continents. With a Tier-3 certified data center, an Internet exchange point (IXP), fiber-optic networks, VSAT teleport services, and a cloud platform, ADH is positioned as a leading provider of connectivity solutions for ISPs, carriers, CDNs, and enterprises across the region.

Describe the project (goals, requirements and outcome)

Goal

The primary objective was to develop a modern, scalable, and bilingual digital platform that effectively represents Aqaba Digital Hub while also supporting its two subsidiary projects. The solution was needed to ensure seamless content management, strong search engine visibility, high performance, and the flexibility to accommodate future expansions, all while maintaining distinct identities for the three entities.

Technical Details

Drupal 10 Multi-Site Architecture

To efficiently manage Aqaba Digital Hub (https://www.adh.jo/), Naitel (https://naitel.jo/), and 35D (https://35d.jo/) under a single platform, a multi-site architecture was implemented. This approach:

  • Allowed each site to maintain a unique identity while sharing the same infrastructure.
  • Reduced maintenance overhead by centralizing updates and configurations.
  • Provided customized access controls for different teams managing each site.

Bilingual Support & Content Management

  • The platform was built with full Arabic (RTL) and English (LTR) support for accessibility.
  • A structured CMS was developed with tailored content types, taxonomies, and permissions.
  • Automated translation workflows were integrated for efficient content updates.

Java-Based Awareness Model

A custom Java model was implemented to:

  • Enhance user engagement by analyzing visitor behavior and recommending relevant content.
  • Improve search rankings by optimizing how content is indexed and displayed.
  • Strengthen content distribution strategies across the three sites.

SEO Optimization & Performance Enhancements

To maximize online visibility and improve user experience:

  • SEO-friendly URLs, schema markup, and structured metadata were applied.
  • Advanced caching mechanisms and lazy loading were configured for faster load times.
  • Mobile-first design principles ensured responsiveness across all devices.

Custom Homepage & Inner Pages Development

A structured digital presence was developed, including:

  • A dynamic homepage tailored to ADH’s brand identity.
  • 10+ inner pages, including About Us, Services, News & Insights, and Contact sections.
  • Subsidiary landing pages for Naitel and 35D, each reflecting their respective brand positioning.

Why Drupal was chosen

Drupal was selected for this project due to its robust multi-site architecture, which allowed seamless management of three distinct websites under one platform. Its flexibility and scalability enabled customization to meet the unique requirements of Aqaba Digital Hub and its subsidiaries, while bilingual support ensured accessibility for both Arabic and English-speaking audiences. Additionally, Drupal’s strong SEO capabilities, security features, and integration potential with external systems made it an ideal choice for delivering a high-performance, future-proof solution that can evolve alongside the growing needs of the digital infrastructure.
